What Is Repainting & Restoration?
Repainting and restoration goes beyond a standard repaint to address homes where the existing paint system has failed or where surfaces have been significantly damaged by weathering, moisture, or lack of maintenance. In Queensland's climate, paint failure is common — chalking, peeling, flaking, mould growth through painted surfaces, render cracking, and weatherboard deterioration are all conditions that require proper remediation before repainting. Applying fresh paint over a failing surface without addressing the cause is money wasted — the new paint will fail in the same way and often faster. Our repainting and restoration service combines thorough surface preparation, substrate repair, and quality coatings to deliver a result that genuinely lasts.
Our Repainting & Restoration Process
- Condition Assessment
A detailed inspection of all surfaces identifies the nature and extent of paint system failure, substrate damage, moisture issues, or other conditions requiring remediation before repainting can begin.
- Remediation
Failed paint is stripped or scraped back. Rotten timber is replaced. Cracked render is repaired. Moisture sources are identified and — where within our scope — addressed. All surfaces are prepared to a sound, clean substrate.
- Priming and Sealing
Bare and repaired surfaces receive appropriate primers and sealers. The primer system is chosen based on the substrate and the cause of the previous paint failure to prevent recurrence.
- Restoration Coatings
Quality exterior or interior coatings are applied in two topcoats, selected for their suitability to the substrate and exposure conditions. Premium flexible coatings may be specified for renders prone to hairline cracking.
- Final Inspection and Documentation
We inspect the completed job and provide product documentation including the paint system used, so you have a record for future maintenance reference.
