Heavily stained white tile balcony in a Gold Coast residential property restored to clean original finish via pressure cleaning. Tiles, grout lines, glass balustrade, and white framing all returned to a clean, even appearance ready for use.
Before & After
What We Did
Surface assessment
Inspected the balcony tiles, grout lines, glass balustrade, and white framing to identify the staining type and confirm the appropriate pressure for the surface. Outdoor tiled balconies accumulate organic staining differently to indoor tiles — the contamination embeds into both the tile surface and the grout lines.
Surrounds protection
Protected potted plants, the glass balustrade, and surrounding finishes from spray drift and runoff. Glass balustrades need careful pressure handling to avoid stress-marking the glass surface.
Pressure clean — tiles & grout
Worked the entire balcony surface with controlled pressure cleaning at appropriate pressure for the tile and grout. Embedded organic staining lifted from both the tile surface and the grout lines, returning the surface to its original colour.
Glass balustrade & framing detail
Cleaned the glass balustrade panels and white framing with appropriate technique for each surface — controlled pressure on glass to avoid stress marking, hand-wand work on the painted framing to clear accumulated dirt without damaging the finish.
Final rinse & inspection
Final rinse to flush all loosened contamination clear of the balcony. Walked the surface to confirm even finish across tiles, grout, glass, and framing.
The Result
The balcony was restored from heavily stained tiles and grout to a clean, even white tile finish — with the glass balustrade clear and the white framing refreshed. The outdoor living area is back to a usable, presentable condition.
Outdoor tiled balconies typically benefit from a pressure clean every 6–12 months depending on tree cover, weather exposure, and use patterns. Regular maintenance prevents organic staining from embedding deeply into the grout lines.
Suitable For
Tiled outdoor areas benefit significantly from professional pressure cleaning — embedded staining in grout lines is difficult to clear with domestic pressure equipment and is what causes outdoor tiles to look permanently dirty even after regular hosing.
This Gold Coast property had a tiled balcony that had accumulated heavy organic staining across both the tile surface and the grout lines — the kind of contamination that builds up over time on outdoor tiled areas exposed to weather, tree drop, and general use. The before image shows the typical pattern: dark embedded staining across white tiles, with the grout lines particularly affected.
Pressure cleaning at appropriate pressure for the tile and grout cleared the embedded staining across the full balcony surface. Glass balustrade panels and white framing were handled with adjusted technique — controlled pressure on glass to avoid stress marking, hand-wand work on the painted framing. The result is the after image: clean original tile finish, clear glass, refreshed framing, and the outdoor living area returned to presentable condition.
